Whether this is your first time listening to lil aaron or if you’re already a fan, his newest EP, ROCK$STAR FAMOU$ is the perfect glimpse into his world. Short sweet and to the point, ROCK$STAR FAMOU$ finds lil aaron diving deep emotionally one second and letting loose the next, leaving no questioning exactly who he is.

Opening with the simplistic and emotional “QUIT,” ROCK$TAR FAMOU$ finds lil aaron bearing his soul, and in a way that first-time listeners wouldn’t expect and fans have fallen in love with. Emotional lyrics like “I'm so in love / I can't even hide it,” would normally be suited for soft acoustics but instead find their place alongside simplistic beats and delivered with over the top auto tune.

The best part about the ROCK$STAR FAMOU$ EP is lil aaron’s ability to seamlessly touch on multiple (sometimes difficult) subjects without missing a beat or sacrificing his unique vibe. Songs like “4 LIFE” (which hosts the line “I know it’s fucked up / but honestly I just wanna be fucked up”) and “STUNT” are both easily relatable, but for entirely different reasons - one is about partying too much and trying to figure out your life while the other is about falling for someone who doesn’t feel the same way. Meanwhile the vulnerable “SOMETIMES” finds lil aaron turning to substances to cope with dark feelings. With each track comes a new topic, some heavy and some a bit more carefree, but each one has a very human quality about it.

If you want to stand out in this day and age, you have to do something game changing, and lil aaron is certainly on the right path with this EP. By bearing his soul and merging different sounds, lil aaron successfully bridges the gap between genres and encourages listeners to open up and be themselves - something we desperately need in 2018.
