Following a whirlwind run of dates opening for Elton John, BRIGHT LIGHT BRIGHT LIGHT (a.k.a. Rod Thomas) is set to release the four-track There Are No Miracles EP on January 13, 2015. Taken from his second album LIFE IS EASY, the radio edit of "There Are No Miracles" will accompany three live tracks from the Elton John tour, including "Disco Moment", "Cry At Films", and "I Believe".
To close out the great year he's had, Bright Light Bright Light will kick off Elton John's New Year's Eve concert at Barclays Center (620 Atlantic Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11217) in Brooklyn, New York - his largest concert on the East Coast so far.
Coinciding with the release of There Are No Miracles EP, Thomas will perform two consecutive nights at NYC's Mercury Lounge (217 E. Houston, NYC 10002) in January - each night presenting his music in a different light. On Tuesday, January 13th, Thomas will perform music from his two albums Make Me Believe in Hope and Life Is Easy with a full-band for an early show at 8pm. On Wednesday, January 14th, Thomas will be performing dance versions and club mixes of his music, transforming the legendary venue into a full-band dance party at 11pm.
Last month, Thomas was given the prestigious distinction of being one of OUT Magazine's OUT100, honoring the most compelling LGBT people chosen by the magazine's editors. He also partnered with London's oldest LGBT choir The Pink Singers to re-record the Life is Easy track "Everything I Ever Wanted," which is available through iTunes (http://smarturl.it/blblejaf). Proceeds from each download going to the Elton John AIDS Foundation (http://ejaf.org).
There Are No Miracles EP will be Bright Light Bright Light's third official release in less than a year. It will be released on January 13, 2015 on Thomas' own label Self Raising Records, distributed in the USA and Canada through MRI / RED.
