Revered indie singer-songwriter, artist and activist Koji has announced a headlining acoustic tour with support from Allison Weiss, Chris Farren (of Fake Problems) and Lee Corey Oswald, playing various dates. The tour will kick off in mid-September and wrap in mid-October. Tickets are available for purchase from local ticketing services.
For those who’ve witnessed Andrew “Koji” Shiraki live, it’s a cathartic experience. He exudes a comforting sense of vulnerability and honesty that’s conveyed through an emotionally charged performance. His music recalls the spirit of legends Bob Dylan and Woody Guthrie and more recent artists Elliott Smith and Ryan Adams. It’s soulful and walks the line between folk, punk and indie rock, conjuring as many heart wrenching emotional moments as cheerful sing-alongs.

Koji’s music cannot be defined by one particular genre or trend. That’s why he’s been able to release splits with acts such as Into It. Over It and La Dispute and shared the stage with assorted bands like Code Orange Kids, The Deer Hunter, Major League and Geoff Rickly (Thursday). On his 2013 debut full-length, Crooked In My Mind, Koji showcases his strength as a songwriter as he utilizes a variety of instrumentation and styles that keep listeners emotionally engaged. Fans can expect to hear several songs from that record as well as his record Some Small Way, which was recently reissued on limited edition 180 gram 12” vinyl, on the upcoming tour.
Also joining Koji on the tour will be pop-rock darling Allison Weiss who recently released her critically heralded EP Remember When, Fake Problems’ singer and self-proclaimed “punk celebrity” Chris Farren and rising Portland indie-punk band Lee Corey Oswald who just released their new album Regards and will be performing as a full band on the fall tour.
Catch Koji, Weiss, Farren and Lee Corey Oswald on tour together this fall.
