In what proved to be a blowout game against rivals and second-place San Francisco Giants, the Los Angeles Dodgers clinched the NL West Championship with a 9-1 win that scored them their second straight title and a trip to the post-season in October.
With two-time Cy Young award winner Clayton Kershaw on the mound, the Dodgers held the Giants and rallied in the sixth inning when Puig Destroyer’s namesake, Yasiel Puig, knocked a solo home run giving them their first lead of the night. Puig later pulled out his cannon to stop a potential threat from the Giants with a jaw-dropping throw from right-center, gunning down Gregor Blanco on his way to third, thusly stopping any chance the team had at a comeback. The rest is history.
“When Kershaw is on the mound and the offense is clicking, the Dodgers look like the best team in baseball,” says Puig Destroyer bassist Ian Miller. “Especially when Puig has his elite bat-flip game on display!”
Puig Destroyer’s new record will be released on September 30th. Pre-order it now at https://nosleeprecords.com/product/7350.
