New Orleans’ Pope are getting ready to release their upcoming full length debut Fiction, next week on March 10th via Community Records (Caddywhompus, Sun Hotel, All People). The wait to hear Fiction however, is over. Noisey are streaming the band’s impressive new record in full, an easy must-listen for fans of anything that’s ever been described as “college rock” or “slacker”… which is to say that Pope know a thing or two about the underground world of indie rock. The band, comprised of Matthew Seferian(guitar/vocals), Alex Skalany (guitar/vocals), and Atticus Lopez (drums) have been playing together since their high school days and the chemistry is radiant throughout Fiction‘s twelve infectious songs. Noisey described the record as “your older brother’s new favorite record” before elaborating “this record is a powerhouse that gives tribute to the artists that inspire it, but more than that it, takes the model of those songs and kicks everything into overdrive, making familiar sounds and chords something else entirely.”
