This spring will be a busy one for Andrew Jackson Jihad. First, the band hits the road for a full U.S. headlining tour alongside The Smith Street Band, Jeff Rosenstock and Chumped. After that, it’s off to Europe for singer/guitarist Sean Bonnette, where he’ll be performing a mix of AJJ songs, new material and covers. Immediately following, the rest of the band will join him for a full band tour around the UK with Hard Girls.
As Sean says, “We are excited and honored to embark on our most thorough tour of the United Kingdom yet. The drives will be short, the food will be fried and delicious, and the people of England, Scotland, and Ireland (AJJ’s first Ireland gig!) will be fun to talk to. This time around we will be bringing one of the best live bands of the modern age with us: Hard Girls from San Jose, California. Seriously, Hard Girls are going to blow your mind.”
AJJ have also released their brand new animated video for ‘Do, Re, and Me’ off their critically acclaimed album Christmas Island. From the brilliant mind of animator Deanna Rooney (Nickelodeon, Comedy Central), the video for ‘Do, Re, and Me’ takes a majority of its cues from the band’s song about the Heaven’s Gate cult as well as from one of the band’s favorite actors. Watch as a dashing ex-con/corrupt cop/rural ex-con/treasure hunter/detective/weather man pushed to the edge saves a group of helpless lemmings spellbound by a mysterious and charismatic guinea pig leader promising them the world and afterlife.
The ‘Do, Re, and Me’ video was premiered on The A.V. Club here:
