Vector Xing Premiere New Single “Wild-Child” at Pigeons & Planes

VECTOR XING have premiered their new single “Wild-Child” at Pigeons & Planes. Pigeons & Planes calls the track “expansive” and “wildly ambitious,” and the group has drawn comparisons to artists like Kwabs, Mnek, and Nico Jaar. The track was produced by Adam Boukis of LA dream-pop band Satchmode.

Founding members Stevan Cablayan and Cameron McLain met at Princeton in 2006, where they discovered a mutual love for genre-bending music. Although they had different upbringings (Cablayan from LA and McLain from London), both maintained a similar perspective on life and shared many core similarities. The two kept in touch and eventually began writing songs together after they both relocated to LA. The results are dynamic, infectious R&B songs with strong electronic influences – songs of beautiful contrasts with jarring digital soundscapes and soulful melodies.

“Both genres aim at authenticity through blunt truthfulness and vulnerability, but they do so using different textures, instruments and ways of expression” explains Stevan Cablayan on the group’s use of R&B and electronic sounds. “Though on the surface they don’t have much in common, at their heart they tell the same stories.”
