Brooklyn-based rock n’ rollers MARCO WITH LOVE have unveiled their new official music video for the single “Big Black Dog” (directed by Damon Cirulli), which premiered exclusively at American Songwriter. The video was filmed at the Super X Ranch in Pioneertown USA desert just outside Joshua Tree National Park, and features the band enjoying a “magical trip” in a spaghetti western style rock n’ roll music video.
“We live in some pretty heavy times,” explains vocalist & founder Marco Argiro. “And this song is only a reflection of one part of the problem. It’s a reflection of the current state of affairs happening in America over the last few years. The overall under current of the song is revolution. A modern day protest song. As a songwriter I feel I would be doing our audience a disservice by not talking about social issues happening right now in this case race related tragedies and violence. I want the listener to Imagine themselves in someone else’s shoes for a change. Often times in my writing I mask the lyrics and shroud them in metaphor, but I’m finding that some of my best work comes out when I’m honest and speak my mind,” explains The lyrics in ‘Big Black Dog’ are a reflection of that.”
Marco With Love will release their new full-length album Smothered & Covered on April 1st via Outright Rock Records, and will perform their album release show at Rockwood Music Hall Stage 2 in New York on April 14th.
