The Los Angeles-based pop-punk trio known as PVMNTS has been causing quite a stir as they gear up for their debut EP Better Days, due out August 17th. With the release of only 1 song thus far, fans have been asking for new music and the band has answered with the release of the circle pit-inducing track “Chemical Trails“.
“We wanted to release Chemical Trails as a second single to show everyone that we can write anthemic songs, but we can get down and dirty and write some heavier stuff” shared vocalist Freddy Ramirez in an exclusive interview with Substream Magazine.”
Inspired by Ramirez’ battle with anxiety and depression since childhood, Chemical Trails refers to the aftermath of prescription drug use to get through the day. The lyrics visit emotions, memories and thoughts felt throughout the symptoms and withdrawal process of certain drugs, all of which were written during his final relapse of his condition.
Earlier this summer, PVMNTS rocked a headlining tour through the UK as well as a performance at Slam Dunk Festival. They gave stateside fans a taste of new music on the Full Sail University stage at the Vans Warped Tour in Ventura and will be joining the tour for the final 3 dates in Florida next month. The band recently announced an EP release show at the Knitting Factory inBrooklyn, NY. Taking place on Sunday, August 12th, this show will be east coast fans’ first opportunity to hear PVMNTS live!
