Oh pride,
there’s a time and a place to die
but why would you understand
that I’m doing the very best I can
Hearts speak
in a range of obscurities
And thought I’m craning my ears
I haven’t heard a single word in years
Do you wanna see what lies beneath this?
‘Cause you might not like what you find
Do you wanna know how every night goes?
Darkness descends and you
find yourself thinking about
the friends that you’re not friends with anymore
Telling yourself nothing can fix you
As you’re kicking yourself down
over and over again
Unused
A head full of empty rooms
As vibrance desaturates
I am overcome to leave this place
Oh, pride
Are you fearful I’ll find out why
there’s an ache in my chest
that grows with every step that I regret
