Nashville-to-LA songwriter Kensington Moore has shared the official video for her latest single “I Don’t Like You Anymore,” available to stream now on her official YouTube channel. The video was directed and filmed by Manny Figs with Mohtion Films.
“Manny and I are both huge fans of the show Black Mirror,” Kensington explains. “We were really inspired to make something futuristic and Black Mirror-esque. In the video, you will see that most of it takes place in an alternate reality – a virtual reality, if you will. In this VR world we created, there is a time limit of only 60 minutes every time you visit. When your time in this VR world runs out, there is a big flash of light as you check back into reality. In our VR world, I meet a guy and start to catch feelings. By the end of the video, he finds a note confessing my love for him. It’s implied that we are both on the same page and seems as if we have a very sweet and normal relationship. Our hearts are human but our connection is digital. So was it ever even real in the first place?”
The song, along with several other tracks to come in 2019, was written & produced in collaboration with Grammy nominated engineer and mixer Travis Ference (Skylar Grey, Alex Da Kid, The Night Game), and Billboard Top 10, 6x multi-platinum (RIAA) producer and bassist Corey Britz (Bush, The Voice, Dave Stewart, Atlas Genius).
“The song is about a guy I thought I loved but was too afraid to say it,” Moore explains. “The title has an underlying message of actually meaning ‘I love you.’ The guy I was dating at the time broke up with me before I could show him the song, so I guess it can be taken literally now too.”
Two years ago Kensington Moore moved to Los Angeles at the age of nineteen. She brought with her the truth and honesty in storytelling from years spent growing up and absorbing the music of Nashville. She combines that classic songwriting with a love of Jazz, R&B, and Pop that heavily influences her production. The complex textures of her soulful voice prove wise beyond her years at only 21. Her dedication, work ethic, and genuine desire to inspire others is infectious and evident to anyone who spends time with her. Kensington is coming off her very first SXSW performance in 2019.
