New Orleans brass / hip-hop ensemble The Soul Rebels are turning heads and tuning in ears with their upbeat, infectious sound. The eight-piece outfit - who just wowed audiences while touring with Wu-Tang Clan, opening for The Rolling Stones, and performing with Katy Perry - are gearing up to release their new album, Poetry in Motion, on October 25th via their new imprint Rebelution Music Group, on Artistry Music/Mack Avenue Music Group. In mid-August The Soul Rebels shared the first single, "Good Time" - a sonic block party featuring NOLA bounce and LGBTQ icon Big Freedia and R&B singer Denisia that premiered on Billboard.

Today they are giving fans another taste of Poetry in Motion's genre-blending genius. The new single, "Real Life", has an old school hip-hop appeal driven by their signature infectious horn section, giving the whole song an overall feel-good vibe. The musicality sets the stage for the honest, uplifting lyrics provided by Passport P, Julian Gosin and Sean Carey. The video, directed by Leff / Vincent Lou Films (Nas, Future, 6LACK, 2 Chainz), was shot in Brooklyn and provides the perfect visual representation for the track.

When asked about the inspiration behind the track, The Soul Rebels shared, "It's about having a dream and bringing it to life. A lot of times people have dreams and don't believe they can really happen. This is telling you to believe in your dreams and go after them. Don't worry about outside influences or what people are saying."

Though they indicate the song does take on many meanings, adding, "It's also about going through real life circumstances and having to make decisions to keep pushing forward and fighting for what you believe in in life. In life we are faced with hard times, challenges and moments that test our strength. The song is about dealing with hardship and coming out strong on the other side. It's a reflective song."
